Founded by an Australian, Mountain Buggy (part of the Mokopuna group that also owns Phil and Teds and Baby Jogger) is the first brand to concentrate on all-terrain dual pushchairs. The Duet twin stroller is easily maneuvered through narrow shopping aisles and through doorways. It is among the smallest, fully-featured double buggies on the market and has been awarded numerous awards, including 2014 Mother & Baby Twin Gold and 2015 Prima Baby Twin Silver.
The narrow seats are large enough for children of different age groups to comfortably sit together, and the seats are independently reclineable, so children can pick their preferred position. The large canopy has flick-out sun visors, and the storage basket is extremely spacious. It is compatible with nearly all brands and accepts two car seat adapters for infants when you purchase car seats.
The only drawback is the weight. At 32.4 pounds, it is heavy to lift into and out of the trunk and could be difficult for Grandma to maneuver. It is also more expensive than other double side-by-side buggies. But, it's built to last and comes with many features for the price. It's an excellent choice for urban parents who don't want to drag around a bulky stroller. The padding of the harnesses and the 5-point buckle ensure safety for babies.
Bugaboo Donkey Twin
The Bugaboo Donkey Twin is a elegant, functional buggy that has an elegant design. It's a good product, but it's not without flaws.
For one, it has very little in terms of extra features for the parents and their children. The only thing provided by the tiny side bin is that it can only be used when a seat in the car is connected. There aren't any cup holders, parent trays or accessory pockets. This could be a problem during long journeys.
The seats also don't recline to a very flat position and the gap between them is quite large which is why our 5 year old was unable to lie back in a comfortable position. It's unfortunate, considering this is a high-end vehicle.
It's easy to move and the swivel-wheel is great for climbing slopes and stairs. It is also narrow enough to fit through most doors and folds up easily for storage and transportation. It can also be changed to mono mode with only three clicks, should you require more space or need to make a quick getaway. The comfort wheeled board can accommodate a third kid if required. It's expensive, but when you're on a tight budget, there are alternatives out there. It's worth it though in the event that you're a huge fan of the brand and have the money to spend.
